Allens Pde, Lennox Heads
This Absolute Beachfront Beach Shack in Lennox Head undertook a HUGE Renovation and Addition by DTA Building Designed By DFJ Architects, Byron Bay. When designing the home the clients brief was to have a home that would withstand the elements, everything needed to be extra tough and hard wearing. They did not want the typical white byron bay beach house style, instead something moodier, dramatic and modern but also comfortable. The main feature that was very important to the clients was bounced/ diffused/ hidden indirect lighting like you find in luxurious hotel rooms. No down lights or direct lights. Working on this this 14 month meticulous project meant DTA Building had to be precise on detail, technicalities with products and quality. When uncovering and stripping back the home it was evident that all 50% of the frame work had rotten out and was on the verge of collapsing which meant rebuilding majority the house from scratch. Regardless of these setbacks DTA Building managed to stick to its timeframe and had minimal dramas. The house has been one of the favourites for Danny with its mix of materials, features, attention to detail and the spectacular kitchen. The indirect lighting had a huge amount of planning and has created something that sees to be felt… absolute luxury. The design is a home that is completely liveable in all areas and built to last the elements.
We have entered the Kitchen in to the Separate award. It featured black butt timber, black cabinetry, a huge Caesar Stone island bench and indirect lighting. Servery windows on both side of the windows serve both decks. Integrated fridge, appliances, and Corten steel Rangehood shroud.
